The Condition Report Writer primary scope of work is to perform vehicle inspections for physical damage and missing or worn parts. The CR Writer will utilize state of the art technology to perform these duties.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Complete inspection of vehicles and ensure vehicles inspected meet the requirements of the client.
  • Notate any and all equipment on each vehicle.
  • Accurately describe the physical condition of the vehicle including exterior and interior damages, inoperable or excessively worn
  • Take multiple digital phots of the vehicles.
  • Record vehicle mileage.
  • Complete all necessary new hire training and ongoing training as required.equipment, and notate any mechanical issues to reduce any possible arbitration claims.
  • Reduce arbitration vehicles and company liability by completing thorough inspections.
  • Maintain a knowledge of current body and mechanical rates, labor and parts charges to ensure that condition reports are accurate.
  • Be professional at all times. Be prompt and courteous to all clients, vendors, and fellow employees.

Educational Requirements and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One (1) year of mechanical/automotive/inspection experience preferred.
  • A general knowledge of automotive components and bodywork process and or physical damage training.
  • Basic computer skills preferred. You must have your own Android tablet.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Automotive Estimating/ Repair a plus.
  • A Damage Estimator License or Independent Auto Damage and Theft Appraisal Adjuster License for the state of New York a plus.
  • Experience working independently or with limited supervision.
  • Good driving record with no more than one moving violation in the last three years.
  • Must be 21 years or older due to car rental regulations.

Physical Requirements to complete vehicle inspections include:

  • Bending / Kneeling
  • Walking
  • Standing for extended periods of time
  • Lifting (up to 25 lbs.)
  • Getting in/out of vehicles
  • Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions (heat, rain, cold, snow, etc.)
  • Must be able to work extended hours including weekends and holidays if needed

Pre-Employment Screening:

  • Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) review (driving record from state DMV)
  • Criminal background screening
  • Drug Test
  • All candidates considered for employment must satisfactorily pass all elements of the pre- employment screening before a formal offer can be made.

Travel:

  • The position requires occasional overnight travel to assist with special projects or increased volumes.

Classification:

  • This is a 1099 Independent Contractor position that could lead into a full time position based on performance.
